Access the Databases

VOSClim is an ongoing project within JCOMM's Voluntary Observing Ships' Scheme. It aims to provide a high-quality subset of marine meteorological data, with extensive associated metadata, to be available in both real-time and delayed mode to support global climate studies. Monthly text files of VOSClim data can be accessed online.

Data Products

Monthly summary statistics for 2° latitude x 2° longitude boxes (and for 1°x1° boxes since 1960) are available from the ICOADS Project.

Other Information

The WMO Secretariat maintains a complete VOS Metadata Catalogue (WMO-No. 47) that contains full details of ships, instrumentation and communications. It is maintained in data base format and will shortly be accessible on-line.
