Global Terrestrial Network - Hydrology (GTN-H)

Data Access

Data Availability: The Global Terrestrial Network – Hydrology (GTN-H) links existing networks and systems for integrated observations of the global water cycle. The GTN-H is a joint project of the Global Climate Observing System (GCOS), the World Meteorological Organization / Climate and Water Department (WMO/CLW), and the Global Terrestrial Observing System (GTOS).

  • GTN-H Hydrological Data Viewer The University of New Hampshire is currently working on the Map Server to display GTN-H Data Products. This site is in developement.
  • State-of-the-Water Cycle Data Viewer The University of New Hampshire is developing this Map Server which will include some applications of GTN-H data in combination with socio-economic data (e.g. population and runoff).
  • The Global Runoff Data Centre (GRDC) provides river discharge data on global scale, and data products and specialized services for the research community, water managers and water-related programs of the specialized agencies of the United Nations.
  • The Global Precipitation Climatology Centre (GPCC) data products are grid analyses of quality-controlled data measured by rain gauges. These products cover the earth's land surface only. The grid precipitation data are complemented by the number of rain gauges for each grid cell as well as correction factors for systematic measuring errors. Precipitation anomaly with regard to normals 1961-90 is also available. The spatial resolution of these products is both, 2.5° by 2.5° as well as 1° by 1° geographical latitude and longitude.
  • The Global Environment Monitoring Centre on Water Quality (GEMS)
