- Carbon Dioxide Flux
- FLUXNET provides data for validation of EOS products. In particular, data will be used to test satellite-derived products of net primary productivity. Data will also be used to test and validate soil-vegetation-atmosphere-transfer models that are being used in global climate and ecosystem models. (User must register to access data.)

- NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies contains access to data for monthly fluxes of CO2. They are employed as source/sink functions in a global three-dimensional atmospheric trace transport model to simulate the annual oscillations of CO2 in the atmosphere.

- World Water Balance:
-
The Digital Atlas of the World Water Balance contains five types of data: precipitation, temperature, radiation, runoff and political boundaries. On each grid cell is presented the mean monthly and mean annual values of each variable in ArcView shapefiles. Mean monthly and mean annual runoff data at 160 stations from GRDC are also given.

- Evapotranspiration:
- The GAME/AAN Project contains data for Asian monsoons in the global energy and water cycle to improve the simulation and seasonal prediction of Asian monsoon patterns and regional water resources. Please read the GAME/ANN Data Policy before accessing data.

- The Global Soil Wetness Project (GSWP) produces state-of-the-art global data sets of land surface fluxes, state variables, and related hydrologic quantities.

- Glacier Length:
-
The World Glacier Monitoring Service (WGMS) contains glacier fluctuation data for up to 1500 sites world-wide. The website provides an exploration tool to get an overview on available information. To view the data, you must send an email with your request.

- National Hydrography Dataset:
- The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) is a comprehensive set of digital spatial data that contains information about surface water features in the United States such as lakes, ponds, streams, rivers, springs and wells. The NHD is based upon the content of USGS Digital Line Graph (DLG) hydrography data integrated with reach-related information from the EPA Reach File Version 3 (RF3).

- Land Cover:
- Leaf Area Index:
-
One of the key "vital signs" of Earth's vegetation is the total green leaf area for a given ground area. Knowing the total leaf area in a plant canopy helps scientists determine how much water will be stored and released by an ecosystem, how much leaf litter it will generate, and how much photosynthesis is going on. The Earth Observatory at NASA provides data and images of LAI.
