Residents have been urged to be on high alert after the Bureau of Meteorology issued a series of weather warnings to five states across Australia.
Severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, damaging winds and large hail are expected to hit parts of New South Wales, Queensland, South Australia and the Northern Territory on Saturday November 12.
The BoM has also issued severe thunderstorm and severe weather warnings for parts of Victoria, New South Wales and South Australia.

Dangerous conditions are expected to continue for the remainder of the weekend in Queensland, New South Wales, with “intense storms” causing “destructive winds and “giant hail” in some areas.

In its latest update, the BoM issued a series of warnings.
“Showers and thunderstorms spread across SA today and develop over parts of NT, Qld, NSW and Vic as a low pressure system deepens over southern SA,” it said.
“Severe thunderstorms are likely across much of the NT, SA, Qld and NSW today, with heavy rain, damaging winds and large hail possible during storms.
“Severe thunderstorm and severe weather warnings are current for parts of SA, Vic and NSW.
“Rain and thunderstorms will spread across Qld, NSW and Victoria on Sunday with moderate to heavy downpours and widespread severe thunderstorms particularly in inland NSW and south inland Qld with large hail, damaging winds and heavy rain causing to cause flash floods. Some of the most intense storms could produce destructive winds and huge hail.
“Widespread rain over the flooded areas of Vic and NSW is likely to cause river levels to rise again on many rivers by early next week, with more moderate to major flooding possible.
“Flood alerts are up to date for large parts of Vic and NSW.”
