Daily Forecast | The latest from WRDW/WAGT First Alert Chief Meteorologist Riley Hale

AUGUSTA, Ga. (WRDW/WAGT) – Cloudy skies tonight through tonight. A few light showers are possible overnight, but most of us should stay dry. Temperatures will be mild overnight for February, dropping to the mid 50’s only overnight. The wind will blow between 3 and 8 mph from the southeast overnight.

We will stay warm ahead of our next approaching cold front on Thursday. Most of Thursday looks dry, but some showers could develop later in the day as warm air moves in. Winds from the south will pick up between 10 and 15 miles per hour. Thursday’s highs appear to be in the mid to high 70’s with cloudy skies for most of the day.

Widespread showers and isolated storms are expected Thursday night through Friday as a cold front moves through the region. Chance of rain during the day on Friday is high, so have indoor plans during the day. The highs should stay well above the average and hit near 70 on Friday. Wind turns southwest ahead of the front and then turns further west late Friday at 10-15 mph. Rain totals for most of the area should be between 0.5 and 1″, but some areas could see 1″+.

The weekend looks much cooler behind the cold front with highs in the upper 50’s on Saturday and the upper 40’s on Sunday. This weekend there may be more rain between Saturday night and Sunday morning. Winter weather currently appears unlikely for most of the region but we cannot rule out a short period of wintry mixes in our northern counties. Winter weather effects are not expected as temperatures are expected to remain above freezing for most of the day on Sunday.

Monday will remain cloudy but mostly dry with cool highs in the mid to high 50s. Sunshine returns on Tuesday with highs in the mid-50s.
