AUGUSTA, Georgia (WRDW / WAGT) – Humidity made a comeback this afternoon after several days of comfortable mid-80s temperatures with low humidity. With the humidity that afternoon, temperatures felt more like the mid-90s compared to the actual high of 91 °.
Occasional showers and storms may occur this evening, with most activity subsiding after sunset. Tonight’s lows will stay near 70 through tomorrow morning. It is expected that isolated storms will develop on Sunday afternoon with highs close to 92 °. Don’t cancel the Sunday outdoor plans. Most of the area is dry. Feel like temperatures are between the mid and upper 90s. The wind blows from the east-southeast between 5-10 miles per hour.
Our summer pattern looks set to last until early next week with seasonal temperatures and storms emerging in the afternoon. Low temperatures Monday through Thursday morning will be near 70. Maximum temperatures from Monday through next Thursday are expected to be near 90 every afternoon.
A tropical wave is expected to approach the coast of GA / SC by Monday afternoon. While the formation of a named storm is very small at 10%, showers and storms are very likely for the coastal areas and even some isolated showers and storms for our southern counties. Total precipitation totals in the CSRA will be low, with higher amounts for some afternoon storms. The wind blows from the SSE between 10-15 mph with gusts close to 20. Keep it here for the latest.
