LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – Plenty of sunshine awaits on Friday afternoons along with hot and humid conditions. A cold front will sweep across Nebraska on Saturday, creating isolated showers and thunderstorms, with some of the storms becoming violent on Saturday afternoon and evening.
Mostly sunny, airy, hot and humid Friday afternoons with highs until the mid-1990s. South-southwest wind 10 to 15 mp with gusts of 40 mph.
Partly cloudy skies from Friday night to Saturday morning with lows in the lower to mid 70s early Saturday morning. There is little chance of an overnight thunderstorm in the Lincoln area.
Partly sunny with a few thunderstorms possible on Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon partly to very cloudy with a few thunderstorms possible. Some of the storms could be severe, especially in northern Nebraska. Occasional severe thunderstorms possible in the Lincoln area late Saturday afternoon and evening. The main threat will be large hailstones and noxious winds, however an isolated tornado is possible. The highs on Saturday will be around 90 and it will continue to be humid.
The best chance of precipitation is Saturday and Saturday evening. Isolated showers and thunderstorms can add up to an inch in some parts of Eastern Nebraska. Remember, these storms are dispersed so that not everyone gets rain.
Sunday looks mostly dry, hot and humid, with highs in the lower 90s.
Monday will be hot and humid with a slight risk of thunderstorms in the late afternoon. Highs will be in the upper 90s. Not so hot on Tuesday and Wednesday with a few thunderstorms on Tuesday and more isolated in nature on Wednesday. Thursday looks dry with seasonal temperatures.
