Heavy rain, thunderstorms to flood New Jersey Thursday; Flood clocks in place

New Jersey residents should be prepared for the possibility of heavy rain and thunderstorms in the state by Thursday.

There is flood monitoring in the north, west and the center of the state.

Meteorologist James Gregorio says the storms are expected to cause heavy rains, thunder and lightning. Most of the heavy rain will fall on Thursday night tonight.

Today the sky is cloudy with occasional rain showers. Humidity will rise, with temperatures in the low 80s.

Clouds will continue to be seen tonight, with late night rain showers. Nighttime temperatures will be in the low 70s. Conditions are getting muggy.

Thursday begins with rain showers in the morning, followed by isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon. Heavy rain is expected. Temperatures will be in the high 70’s.

The rain will continue into the night with temperatures around the 60s.

On Friday it can rain a little in the morning, but the rain stops in the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the low 70’s.

The weekend turns out to be pleasant, with mostly sunny skies and temperatures between the lower to mid 70s.

The following week is expected to be mostly dry and mild.

Friday has the chance to see some rain in the morning. But Curren says he believes the rain will stop by the afternoon. The high temperatures will be around 72 degrees.
