This weekend the autumn rains sweep the region
It’s a weather warning day and Q13 FOX chief meteorologist Lisa Villegas is tracking a rainstorm sweeping through West Washington tonight and this weekend.
SEATTLE – Talk about a cloudy day. We kept raining all day, but that’s just the beginning. Moderate to heavy rain will increase tonight as a cold front hits the area. The chance of rain and thunderstorms will last all weekend and will add to our rain totals. This is going to be our first “fall” storm of the season! Autumn officially begins on Wednesday.
The system was supposed to hit tonight and intensify those heavy downpours. You will know when it hits!

As the system approaches the area, increasing wind speeds can be expected. In fact, wind speeds on the North Sound and the coast have already increased.

We’ll have a wind consultation there until 8 p.m. tonight. Expect gusts of over 50 mph! That doesn’t mean we won’t see windy conditions elsewhere. Expect gusty conditions tonight when the system strikes.

Temperatures remain below normal for most of the week. Our normal high temperature will drop to 71 degrees tomorrow and our temperatures will be in the mid-60s!

Stay cool and dry this weekend!
