Miami Hurricanes verbally sweep by Evelyn Meggesto of the Arlington Aquatic Club

NEW COMMIT: The University of Miami has received a new verbal approval from the Futures Qualifier for the fall of 2022 Evelyn Meggesto from Alexandria, Virginia.

She will take part Sarah scythe burner of Sarasota, Florida, as a member of the Canes’ Class of 2026.

she said Swimming world:

“I’m very excited to announce my oral commitment to swim and study at the University of Miami! I want to thank my family, friends and all of my coaches who have supported me on this journey. Cant wait to be a hurricane in the U! GO CANES â€

A talented butterfly and freestyler, Meggesto trains with the Arlington Aquatic Club and set two best times at the Richmond Futures last summer. She also finished 200m at the TYR 18 & U Cup in Richmond in April and finished 13th in the 18 & U Winter Championships – Potomac Valley last winter.

Her best times include:

  • 100 flies – 56.25
  • 200 flies – 2: 03.70
  • 50 free – 24.65
  • 100 free – 52.71
  • 200 free – 1: 52.86

Meggesto also attends Saint Stephen’s & Saint Agnes School and is a six-time finalist in the Virginia Independent School State Championship. As a junior she finished fourth in the 100 Fly and fifth in the 200 Free as a junior, while she finished third and fourth at these events during her second season.
