Monroe Capital Hires Gila Cohen to Lead Global Institutional Partnerships | Business


Monroe Capital LLC today announced that Gila Cohen has joined the firm as Managing Director, Head of Global Institutional Partnerships, based in the firm’s New York office. She will be responsible for new initiatives to expand Monroe’s global footprint, among institutional investors, focusing on the company’s high-growth real estate and opportunistic private credit areas.

Prior to Monroe, Gila was Director of Investment Strategy for MUFG (USA) and was responsible for advising, leading and governing the strategic alternatives investment portfolio, as well as playing a strategic role in the missions. enterprise-wide for ESG and DEI. She has also advised on the development of strategic partnerships within the firm and on investment opportunities for a wide range of MUFG entities, focusing on both business services and financial services outside of Japan. She has over 25 years of experience in investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, sale and purchase transactions, underwriting, creation and investment in real estate, private equity and private credit, and the creation of strong strategic partnerships. Prior to MUFG, Gila was Managing Partner at Castle Lanterra, where she was responsible for corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions and private equity efforts. Prior to Castle Lanterra, Gila held senior positions at Courtland Partners, Capital Dynamics and Golub Capital. She has also held investment banking positions at JP Morgan, UBS, Credit Suisse First Boston. She received her BA in Art History with a concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University.
