Lake Nona, FL – The 16ththThe #11 FSU women’s tennis team’s rematch at the USTA National Campus ended with the Noles trailing 4-1 Saturday night. The Seminoles won in first place in singles of 22nd-placed Petra Hule and was up two other places in third sets but failed to get wins on lines two, four and six to force those games into relevance.
Facing two doubles teams ranked in the top 50, Florida took an early lead. the 24thth– Placed couple took the point in first place with 6:2. On court two, the 46 of the Gatorsth-Finished pair also secured a win to give Florida a 1-0 lead.
Hule quickly equalized the game in first place in singles. The senior, who played on lines four and five for most of 2021, proved once again that she’s ready to take first place in the lineup as she cruised to a 6-4, 6-2 win to defeat to improve to 5-0 in doubles all in first place this season. Florida took the lead in second after winning a hard-fought tiebreak in the first set and then winning the second set. The Seminoles won the first set in both places five and six, but were unable to maintain the lead in sixth after already falling 3-1 after losing a point in fourth.
