on a Friday evening. Checking in the overall Maine weather, we’re having some wet weather throughout the weekend tonight but things are pretty calm. A few showers could develop in the mountains later this evening along the coast. Things remain relatively clear, although cloud will roll in early tomorrow and the chance of rain is up to 50% by midday tomorrow and a near 100% chance by evening of some, maybe some bouts of heavy rain. So, on the weather map, you can see showers and clouds, all associated with a cold front moving toward New England. The problem will be an area of low pressure along that front, which will amplify some of the rain here on Saturday night, and then colder air will come in on the back of it. So the mountains will turn to some snow. In fact, even some of the lower elevations could see a bit, but that’s mostly late tomorrow night. Here are tonight’s rain showers creeping along the Canadian border. Meanwhile in Portland to start the day tomorrow clouds will become more widespread, showers will pass, becoming heavier in nature, especially tomorrow night. It’s 7:00 am and here you can see some of the higher peaks turning to snow. Meanwhile, a good rain wave pushes towards the coast here during the night. When all is said and done, we’re expecting more than three-quarters to maybe an inch of rain to fall from Lewiston Auburn to Augusta, and much of it coming in a relatively short amount of time overnight. Tonight’s lows will be in the 40’s and tomorrow’s highs will be about 10 degrees colder than today. That only brings us to the fifties, eight-day forecast, firestorm with onset of rain on Saturday, Easter Sunday, mostly cloudy, some rain residue early. A few sunsets on Monday look great. And then another coastal storm on Tuesday brings the threat of cold rain and wet snow across the interior.
