SEVERE Thunderstorms Continue Sunday Night – Live Updates – Storm continues in North Texas Sunday night – CBS Dallas / Fort Worth

NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) Warning of strong thunderstorms for Ellis, Henderson, Hill, and Navarro Counties until 11:15 PM. Warning of strong thunderstorms for Delta, Fannin, Hopkins, Hunt, Kaufman, Lamar, Rains, Rockwall and Van Zandt Counties until 11:30 p.m. Tornado monitoring lasts until 2 a.m. for the counties east of DFW. Timeline below.

Severe weather swept through north Texas on Sunday evening, resulting in several severe thunderstorm warnings and some tornado warnings.

There was no confirmation on Sunday evening whether tornadoes had landed, but the National Weather Services issued several tornado warnings based on radar displays.

Reports of high winds were common across North Texas, with a 70 MPH gust confirmed at DFW Airport.

Trees and power lines also collapsed in many areas. Oncor once confirmed that almost 56,000 customers in the DFW area are without electricity.

CBS 11 Storm Chaser Jason McLaughlin recorded video of high winds in Haslet, Texas as the storms broke through.

Gunter’s Tim Anderson told CBS 11 that he lost a large tree.

Due to the storm forecast for tonight, the State Fair of Texas closes at 8:30 p.m.. The fair usually closes at 9:00 p.m. on Sundays.

The National Weather Service says some storms in the Palo Pinto district have reached wind speeds of 70 MPH.
