Telemundo Orlando Adds Chief Meteorologist and Weather Anchor

Alexis Orengo and Jarymar Colon Diaz will transfer to Orlando Telemundo’s own station Telemundo 31 (WTMO) as Chief Meteorologist and Weather Announcer.

Chief meteorologist Orengo will make his debut on August 15, while weather presenter Colón Díaz will make his debut on August 20.

“We are delighted to have Alexis and Jarymar join our La Autoridad en el Tiempo team,” he said Miguel Angel Lopezvp of news for Telemundo 31. “With these additions, we will be better able to provide important meteorological information — as will our weather team, who are committed to keeping our viewers informed of Central Florida’s ever-changing weather.”

Orengo comes to Orlando from Telemundo 39 (KXTX) in Dallas, Texas, where he has worked since 2018. Orengo received the Certified Broadcast Meteorologist (CBM) designation from the American Meteorologist Society (AMS) in 2019.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Colón Díaz is a graduate of Universidad del Sagrado Corazon, where she received a BA in Radio Production and Marketing. She is currently enrolled at Mississippi State University pursuing a BS in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology and expects to graduate this year.

She was a weather presenter for RADIO WHOY 1210AM – and did an internship as part of the La Autoridad en el Tiempo team for Telemundo Puerto Rico in 2022.
