Just in time for the tropics to get more active, we invite you to join us for a hurricane community forum later this week. We’ll be in Manteo this Thursday night and in Buxton this Friday night.
Thursday 25 August from 6pm to 8pm
Friday, August 26 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Join these free, open-to-all public discussions on hurricane preparedness. You will have the opportunity to hear a presentation from a National Weather Service meteorologist about hurricanes and their impact on eastern North Carolina. We’ll explain why you should never just focus on the storm category, what the hurricane trail means, and the different effects tropical cyclones can have. We’ll also cover the hurricane outlook for the year, emphasizing that it only takes one storm to change your life! At the end you can ask any questions you may have.
From the comfort of your own home or in person! These will be hybrid (virtual or in-person) or all virtual this year. You must have internet access to participate virtually. This allows you to view and listen to the presentation. You can ask questions over the webinar itself or, if you have a microphone (most mobile devices have it), you can raise your hand and ask verbally.
