WOAI has hired a new meteorologist

A new member of the 4Zone weather team rolls through the WOAI/KABB station in San Antonio next month. Joe DeCarlo took to Twitter earlier this week to announce the news.

“I am pleased to announce that I have accepted a position at @KABBFOX29 @News4SA. I will start my new position in February. I am grateful to remain in the Lone Star State and to continue to forecast the state’s development. changing weather,” wrote the meteorologist.

According to the news channel, DeCarlo will officially take up his new position on February 14. Before venturing to Alamo City, he worked at KIII as a meteorologist in Corpus Christi. Prior to that, he spent two years at FOX West Texas.

WOAI 4Zone Weather Team Chief Meteorologist Chris Suchan celebrated the addition to his team on Twitter.

“Welcome to San Antonio Joe,” Suchan wrote.

DeCarlo studied meteorology at the University of Oklahoma and graduated in 2019 with a Bachelor of Science in the Department of Atmospheric & Geographic Sciences. He grew up in the Chicago suburbs.

According to the news channel, he’s looking forward to exploring San Antonio and hiking the Texas Hill Country.
