Your weather: A warm and hot Wednesday – lightning, thunderstorms expected in North Cape

Severe thunderstorms will cause excessive lightning in parts of the Northern Cape on Wednesday, on a likely warm to hot day across the country, according to the South African Weather Service.

Impact-based warning

A level 1 amber warning of excessive lightning strikes causing local service disruptions due to surges and local property damage above the Kai! Garib community.

Fire hazard warning

In the central and western parts of the Northern Cape, as well as in the northern parts of the west coast and the Central Karoo district, extremely high fire hazards are expected.

Extremely hot conditions are expected over the northern parts of the West Coast District in the Western Cape.

The weather in your province

In Gauteng, it will be cloudy and cool, but warm in the north, in the afternoon it will be beautiful.

KwaZulu-Natal can expect morning fog over the interior of the country, otherwise partly cloudy and cool, but warm in places in the north.

The wind along the coast is moderate to fresh from north to northeast.
